I had the tremendous honor to communicate with Nipun Mehta, founder of KarmaTube and ServiceSpace, a couple of years ago, after Service Space interviewed me. Both organizations are awe inspiring. The amount of good their staff of volunteers puts out into the world (virtual and "real) every day is humbling and deeply inspiring.
Nipun's babies also include Karma Kitchen, DailyGood, KindSpring, KarmaTube, and more. Just knowing about ONE of these projects can fill your heart as well as transform your life, if you choose to get a little closer.
ALL volunteer- run. Seriously.
Super dedicated and effective volunteers, all over the world.
Nipun built that.
And let me tell you, they walk their talk: a few summers ago, a couple of girlfriends and I headed down to Portland for the weekend to do a Sprinkling, and were invited to stay at one of their magic-makers' home. Let me just repeat: they walk their talk.
So, yes, I am a big fan of Nipun.
Today, I want to share him with you, through his TEDx talk. Here, Nipun talks about the three Stages of Generosity: Give, Receive, and Dance!
I think you'll like it.
"I think I love you. You bring good things into my life, or remind me of things I love and know, but have let go of."
"Thank you for your gentle words that are packed full of wisdom. I have been struggling with the concept of what words can do to another person when they are negative words. This podcast is the flip side of our word power, and shows how delightfully powerful kind words can be. Loving words are so delicious leaving my mouths, and are just as delicious entering our ears. Our hearts are touched in both situations. It's a great circle of life. Thank you."
"Once again Laura Lavigne takes you on an adventure of the heart. She has a way of pulling you right in the car with her. Asking you to consider changing a fear to taking thoughtful action. Whether she's teaching a class, leading a retreat or heading for a happiness sprinkling, Laura will invite you to shed old ways of thinking and be completely authentic. Join in!"
"Essentially pure love.
I enjoy how Laura is kind to herself and to us other humans who dance in and out of each other's lives. The first episode is so relatable and an enjoyable invitation to reflect and feel just a little more present and open. I am really looking forward to each episode!"
"Don't miss an episode!
You can count on Laura for warmth, humor, charm, and a lift to your day and your heart. She inspires me to be braver than I am, and to love the world out loud. She's a gem, and a generous one at that!"
