What should I bring for the Retreat?
Bring enough clothing for the length of our Retreat. Bring a light sweater or some sort of layer for the cooler evenings and possible rainy weather. If you plan on going swimming, bring a suit. Also, good walking shoes as we will be doing a lot of adventuring!
Be sure to have an extra pair of prescription glasses; order ahead of time any medication you will need; call your credit/debit card companies and let them know you will be using your cards out of your hometown, and of course make sure your passport is current. Please refrain from using scented products as some guests have adverse reactions to them.
Is there wi-fi at our villa?
There will be wifi there. Please remember to bring your power outlet converter.
Is there a washer at our villa?
There is. although it is "European slow." To dry our clothes, we hang them outside.
What is the time difference?
Portovenere is nine hours ahead of us.
How much spending money should I bring?
All meals at home will be covered by us. On class days, you will be lovingly served a continental breakfast of pastries, hard boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt, fruit juice and coffee or tea. On class days, we will have a lovely Italian lunch prepared for us at home. We will have 7 breakfasts at home, 5 lunches and 2 dinners. You can count on a average of 30€ per meal - plus drinks.
Also budget for any train / bus tickets on our play days, as well as tours that you may want to take.
And of course figure in your play money and treasures to bring home, as well as a healthy gelato budget!
