I am a visual artist working both in solo studio painting and participatory, community-based practice, centered around belonging, humanity, and connection.
I am is a visual artist and facilitator whose work centers on the Essences of belonging, honoring and celebrating, using portraiture, storytelling, solo studio work and community-based work. I thrive on creating spaces where people are seen, valued, and brought into connection with one another through art.
My work moves between studio-based painting and collaborative processes. At times I work directly with communities through co-creation, workshops, and relational engagement; at other times I work independently in the studio, developing mixed media paintings and installations that emerge from my casi devotion to everyday moments.
My projects include co-creating art with refugees in Greece, honoring the people of my adopted village in Mexico through La Gente del Pueblo, and developing Wall of Hearts installations that raise funds and awareness for women. Across contexts, the art I create is rooted in community, my love for life and my belief that art heals.
Whether in my studio in Mexico or wrk I often begin through direct engagement with people and place: listening, seeing with my heart and eyes, and developing a visual languages through storytelling, portraiture, or collaboration. At other times, I work independently in the studio, translating these encounters into mixed media paintings and large-scale installations.
Each project takes shape in response to its context. Some unfold through workshops and gatherings; others emerge as studio-based bodies of work that later become immersive installations or participatory environments. I work primarily with acrylics and mixed media.
Across both modes, the work is born from the same desire: to create art that make people feel seen, and where visibility becomes a form of love and connection.
I always welcome conversations about residencies, collaborations, commissions, and community-based projects.
If you feel aligned with my work, I would be glad to hear from you.
